The Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment is a part of the School of Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

It is the oldest faculty in the country where aspects of earth sciences have been taught and at present, it is also the biggest. Its history, with taught subjects on Mineralogy and Geology, is traced to the establishment of the University in 1839. Today the Faculty comprises six departments covering a broad range of earth science subjects.

It aims to prepare students for careers in environmental science, natural hazard assessment and mitigation, geotechnical engineering, exploration and exploitation of mineral and energy resources etc., and promote geoscientific research leading to academic careers in universities, research institutes and museums.

Imagine Peace Summer Camp 2015 - Call for participants

The British Council along with International Olympic Truce Centre and under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace, is organizing the Imagine Peace Summer Camp. The Summer Camp will take place 25-31 July 2015 in Ancient Olympia, Greece.

 

We are looking for participants from all over the world that should:

  • be aged between 18 and 25 years
  • be able to communicate in English
  • be available and fully committed to take part in the  Imagine Peace Youth Camp.
  • be involved in youth or community projects in their community and be motivated to implement youth initiatives for peace-building following the event
  • be curious, open-minded and appreciate diversity

 

The cost is 450€ which includes accommodation, 3 meals per day, local transportation and all programme and training costs. Participants are expected to cover international travel costs

 

The application deadline is at the 20th of May.
