3RD STUDENTS WORKSHOP IN INDUSTRIAL MINERALS AND ENERGY RESOURCES

Since 2011, the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment has organised three Summer Schools - 9/2011 Kissamos Crete Island, 2013 Karlovassi Samos Island, 2014 Milos Island and three Students Workshops all located at Milos Island in the years 2017, 2018 and 2019.

All these activities comprised both lectures and filedwork in active quarries and field outcrops of minerals and rocks of industrial potential. The themes of the presentations were on environmentally friendly industrial minerals and rocks, energy resources, geoarchaeology, culture heritage and coastal landscapes.

Despite the funds derived from the NKUA, the major financial support for implementing all six actions above, came from Private and Public Companies.

A brief description of our activities during the 3rd Students Workshop in Industrial Minerals and Energy Resources, which is the most recent, can be found in the attached pdf file..
